You will go down 1,000meters as you turn at 3,200 meters and will drive down to Trogon Lodge at 2,200 meters. Note that once you turn right from the main road, these last 7 km are gravel. Follow the road and the signs for 7 km and turn left where you see Trogon Lodge’s sign. Turn right at km 80 (you will see the bus stop and Bar “Los Jilgueros”). Take the South Panamerican Highway (Route 2) and drive up passing by Casa Mata, Providencia and continue until you reach KM 80 on the road (there are yellow road marks on the right hand side of the road showing the km you are on). San Gerardo de Dota is a small community of about 220 people, and part of the area known as “Los Santos” (The Saints, in English), towns named after the name of a Saint (just like Santa Maria, San Pablo de Leon Cortes, and others).
